Bears HIbernating
During our unit on Winter Animals, we discussed the difference in hibernation and migration. We discovered that lots of animals hibernate. One student kept pondering and asking questions as to how and why pet turtles know to hibernate. Inquiring minds (the student and I searched and found our answer via the internet and its relation to being cold-blooded) kept me busy and eagerily looking for an answer. Here is a picture of some bear caves we made and polar bears we sculpted from white clay.

I LOVE this! I just finished my bear unit with my class but I'll definitely use this next year. If you want some bear ideas, check out my blog (scroll way down, it's one of the earlier blogs).
