Robert Munsch

My class will begin an author study on Robert Munsch tomorrow. I am beginning with the book, Love You Forever. I love sharing (reading/singing) this book with my students each Valentine's.

Valentine's, Friendship, and Family

This week we are going to celebrate Valentine's Day for the entire week. You are probably thinking that I have gone crazy! We are going to discuss friendship and family. I will post pics tomorrow of my students Valentine holders that they create with their family. They always turn out so cute.

Bears HIbernating

During our unit on Winter Animals, we discussed the difference in hibernation and migration. We discovered that lots of animals hibernate. One student kept pondering and asking questions as to how and why pet turtles know to hibernate. Inquiring minds (the student and I searched and found our answer via the internet and its relation to being cold-blooded) kept me busy and eagerily looking for an answer. Here is a picture of some bear caves we made and polar bears we sculpted from white clay.
